  6. Dear IGCSE Centre,

  8. Thank you for everything you guys did ! But I have a question here , for Chinese second language , how many papers are there ?

  9. Dear IGCSE CENTRE,
Is there any negative marking if the written text is not in the word limit specified in the question. This question in regarding French-Foreign Language(0520).

    Thanks in advance

    • Hi Eris,
If you write less than the expected word count, chances are you do not provide enough points to answer the question. If you write more than the word count and provide enough points, you will not be penalised. However, you must make sure you can finish the paper in time.

  10. Dear IGCSE CENTRE Team,
Thank you for your dedication and hard work in trying to past IGCSE papers available to students across the world.

  13. Dear IGCSE Team,
This website has helped me extensively, thank you so much! With my boards coming up in the May/June 2017 term, as and when you get the specimen papers please upload them. This is just a request, also if you can make a template table on the completion of papers year wise for coordinated sciences and maths, it would be very helpful!

Thank you for your support always!

    • Hi Tanisha,
We are not sure if we understand you well. All the past papers are in respective “year wise” folders. Just click on the Subject that you require, you will them listed.

  14. Hi!
what is the difference between Matematics, Mathematics-additional and Mathematics-international?
    which one is the easiest?
    thankyou!

    • Hey!
I did my IGCSE’s in May June 2016 and I had done Mathematics and Additional-Mathematics. I’m sure Additional Mathematics is the hardest but the most beneficial if you are planning to take Mathematics in A-Levels. Trust me right now in my AS Level Mathematics subject everything (I mean like 80%-90%) in the syllabus is already taught in Additional-Mathematics IGCSE! Now I can have more time for my other 3 subjects. The other people in my class who didn’t take it are struggling with some topics. Its all upon you! (:

  15. What is the difference among Mathematics (0580), Mathematics-International and Mathematics-Additional? which is the easiest?

    • Hi Sumaiyya,

The 0580 and 0607 are quite similar in terms of difficulties. The 0606 is of much higher level than the previous 2.

Here are the brief explanations for each subject:

      Mathematics (0580):-
An essential subject for all learners, Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics encourages the development of mathematical knowledge as a key life skill, and as a basis for more advanced study. The syllabus aims to build learners’ confidence by helping them develop a feel for numbers, patterns and relationships, and places a strong emphasis on solving problems and presenting and interpreting results. Learners also gain an understanding of how to communicate and reason using mathematical concepts.

      Mathematics – Additional (0606):-
This syllabus is intended for high ability learners who have achieved, or are likely to achieve, grade A*, A or B in the Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics examination. Cambridge IGCSE Additional Mathematics enables learners to extend the mathematical skills, knowledge and understanding developed in the Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics course and use skills in the context of more advanced techniques.
The syllabus has a Pure Mathematics only content which enables learners to acquire a suitable foundation in mathematics for further study in the subject. Knowledge of the content of the Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics syllabus (or an equivalent syllabus) is assumed.

      International Mathematics (0607)
Cambridge IGCSE International Mathematics has been developed for schools offering an international curriculum. It complements the IB curriculum, offering an assessment and certification at the end of the Middle Years Programme. Cambridge International Mathematics reflects the way today’s learners like to learn: they will acquire a solid foundation of mathematical skills and learn how to develop strategies for solving open-ended problems.
The course also allows learners to develop and sharpen their investigation and modeling skills, and introduces them to the use of graphical calculators – a necessary part of the IB Diploma.

  16. Dear IGCSE team,
Firstly thank you for updating the papers. It`s a great help for me. However, I really have a question regarding the Sciences, if I am taking three sciences for my exam, would I do combined science paper or individual science papers?
    Please do reply me!

    Thanks and Regards

    • Hi Sai,
      You are most welcome! 🙂
If you are taking 3 sciences, you will take the individual science paper: Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

  17. Dear IGCSE team,
I will be taking my IGCSE 10th grade examination in May-June 2017. Will these past papers be helpful for me?

  18. Dear IGCSE team,
can you please upload the audio track of French Foreign Language (0520) paper 1 ( listening )
    May June 2016
    variant — 12

  19. Dear IGCSE,
I am doing English as a second language (0510) Core. I would like to ask you, in the Exrercise 6,7(writing excercises) can we write a 1 paragraph main body or we need to write more than 1 paragraph main body?

    • Hi Abdullah,
A good practice is to write one paragraph for each bullet point. If there are 3 bullet points, you need to have 3 paragraphs for the main body.

  20. Dear IGCSE Team,
in French Foreign Language (0520) paper 3 , will your team be hearing our complete audio tracks sent by the school?

    • Hi Harita,
First of all, we are not the one who mark your exam papers. CIE does 🙂

If you would like to enquire about how the paper is being marked, you need to write to CIE.

  21. Dear IGCSE team
I am doing multiple exams this year and I want to know is there anyway to download the entire folder to my google drive instead of one paper at a time?

      • Dear IGCSE team,

I’m in Grade 10 and I’m going to appear in February/March 2017.I want to do the same as Arham said – download the whole folder for each subject. But I was not able to locate the aforementioned button which will help me to download the entire folder. So may you help me out?

        • Hi Bijal,
First you need to log out from your Gmail or any google related programme that you are signed in now. You should be able to see it.

    • Hello Utkarsh,
Here are the brief explanation for both:

      Computer Science 0478:-
Learners following the Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science syllabus develop their understanding of the main principles of problem solving using computers. They can apply their understanding to develop computer-based solutions to problems using algorithms and a high-level programming language. Learners also develop a range of technical skills, as well as being able to effectively test and evaluate computing solutions. Studying Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science will help learners appreciate current and emerging computing technologies, the benefits of their use and recognise their potential risks.

      Information and Communication Technology (0417):-
The Information Communication Technology syllabus encourages learners to develop lifelong skills, which will be useful to them in their work across the curriculum and prepare them for future employment. They will develop understanding of the implications of technology in society, including social, economic and ethical uses and awareness of the ways ICT can help in home, learning and work environments.
The syllabus combines theoretical and practical studies focusing on the ability to use common software applications to solve problems, including word processors, spreadsheets, databases, interactive presentation software, web browsers and website design. Learners analyse, design, implement, test and evaluate ICT systems, ensuring that they are fit for purpose.

You can also download their syllabus here and make comparison: http://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/

    • Hi Bijal,
You can use the writing books practice from primary where you have the 3 lines for you to learn writing properly. It is a very good tool. Try it.

  22. Hi IGCSE Team I wanted to know when are you all updating the October November 2016 paper the board exams are round the corner! THANK YOU!

  23. respected IGCSE team,
can you please upload the listening track for
    2016 may/june French Foreign Language (0520)

    thank you
    ~ak

  24. Dear IGCSE,
Can you please tell me that is it compulsory to write titles for ALL the Directed Questions in First Language English (0500)??

    • Hi Aakash,
Usually it is required to write the title in Directed Writing. The question would specify which title you must include in your answer. Please follow the instruction carefully. If you failed to provide a title while it is requested by the question, you would lose mark for the title.

    • Hi Sakina,
Yes, it is allowed. You may see this note on the past exam papers: “Electronic calculators may be used.”

  25. respected IGCSE team,
i was unable to find the French Foreign Language (0520)
    listening tracks – paper 1
    of may june 2016
can you please upload them soon
    thank you!

  26. Dear Igcsecentre team,
Could you please upload 2017 specimen papers for feb/march series as i will be appearing for my igcse in this batch. Thank you

  27. Hi
I was wondering if we are allowed to use contractions like can’t, don’t, they’re or we’ll for first language english (0500). Pls do let me know because I don’t wanna be penalized for using them.
    Thanks

  28. Dear IGCSE team

I have a question regarding Science – combined (0653). Is it a combination of all sciences including geology and astronomy? And also is it easier than all three sciences separate?
    Please do answer my question

    Regards
    Saahil Bellani
    IGSCE Batch (2016 -18)

    • Hi Saahil,
Combined Science is the combination of the 3 sciences: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. It is NOT the combination of “all sciences including geology and astronomy”. This is a false assumption.

Combines Science is indeed easier than the three individual sciences.

  29. Hello IGCSE team,
could you people please suggest me a good (well updated) website for A LEVELs?
    xtremepaper isn’t really updated.

  30. Dear IGCSE team
Thank you for the good work. Regarding May June 2016 papers, in the French 0520 folder, you have uploaded all question papers all variants including mark sheets, however have not uploaded any audio recordings for the listening papers 11,12,13.
Please could this be done, as it is of no help having the Listening question paper and mark sheet without the audio recording.
    Thank you.

  31. I was just going to say, you only put up names of candidates who got A*s. They said your website helped them a lot. What about the people that did not get A*s? What if these standardized tests don’t make sense to them but they have no other choice? What if they are talented beyond belief and still these tests make them believe otherwise?

    • Well mate, that’s just the way things are. Einstein once said something along the lines of ‘If you judge a fish by its ability to climb, it will spend its entire life believing it is stupid’. The same can be said for humans; we’re multi-dimensional beings who are talented in vastly different things. If you know about your talent and think you actually are really good at it, then try to build something concrete out of that. We all want the world to change and have our own ideas as to how exactly we’ll change it, but the undying truth here is, it’s going to take a long while for it to happen. Until then, we’re left with no other option than to play along the rules. It’s not very nice, I know, but it is what it is.

  32. Dear IGCSE,

I would like to apply for Chinese foreign language in June 2017. However, my school refuse to sign me to this exam because I speak Chinese at home, but my reading and writing is too poor because the school does not have Chinese first language course and I do not really read and write much in Chinese. Therefore, I feel that my actual level of Chinese is only foreign language for reading and writing. Is it possible to sign up for the Chinese foreign language? Are there any specific rules to sign up for signing up a foreign language?

    Sally

    • Hi Sally,
You may register as “Private Candidate” with your local British Council and write this exam there. However, you must also make sure the exam timetable for Chinese Foreign Language is not clashing with the other subjects.
