    • Hi Shakthi,

If you refer to the abbreviations used, i.e.: AW – alternative wording (accept other ways of expressing the same idea); AVP – any valid point; then cross check with the mark scheme – you will see if they accept the exact same answer or any correct answers as long as it’s valid.

  1. If I get 72% in English as first language but for A* it is 69%. Then what will be my percentage after converting it.

  2. If I scored 72% in English but the the grade threshold is 69% for A* then what percentage will be there in my result card.

  3. If I scored 72% in English but the grade threshold is 69% for A* then what percentage will be there in my result card.

  4. How is our percentage is converter. For example if I score 70% in english but the threshold for A* is 69 then what percentage will be written for me.

  5. Dear IGCSE centre,
When would you be able to upload the f/m 17 papers (question papers) for geography ?
    Your help is kindly appreciated
    Thank you

    • Hi Nisarg, those are the papers we’re missing at the moment. You can use the older past exam papers as practice.

    • Hi,
      Yes, you can do that.

You can take the Cambridge AS Level in one examination series and complete the Cambridge A Level in the subsequent examination series. However, please take note that this route is not possible for all subjects. The outcomes awarded for Cambridge AS Level language syllabuses cannot be carried forward to Cambridge A Level.

      Please read more here: http://alevelcentre.com/what-is-asa-level/

  6. heyy s fast question after igcse are the AS and afterwards the Alevels right? Also can i please have the AS pastpaper website?
    Thank you so muchh

  7. I wanted to know how will the physics and chemistry IGCSE revision classes be held? And if I’ve any doubt from the past papers how will it be dealt?

  8. Dear IGCSE Centre,

I had like to clarify a doubt. In the physics (and other sciences) the grade threshold for an A* in the F/M 17 is 130 and total marks after weightage is 200. So lets say for e.g 130/160*200= 162.5. How will they determine the % in this way ?

  9. Hi,
I would like to know when the grade thresholds for May/June 2017 will be updated. It would be of great pleasure. 🙂

    • Hi,

We usually update the materials (thresholds, marking scheme, past papers) after the exam series’ results is released.

  10. I kind of confused about whether I should take Travel And Tourism for my igs? I wanted to know that is it possible to get an A* in TandT?

  11. Dear IGCSE Center,
In the business paper, they had given designated areas to write advantages and disadvantages for one of the questions; however i wrote them in the opposite areas, upon realization i did clearly mark that i had written in the opposite place and labeled both the advantages and disadvantages. I would like to confirm, will this be marked?

    • Hi Maria,

We are not sure what do you meant by “opposite delegated areas”. If you meant the “blank page” on the second page, you may find our answer as below.

You will still be awarded marks if you labeled your answers properly according to the question numbers, and also inform the examiner to look at the “blank page”. Otherwise, the examiner will not know the complete answers are at the “blank page”.

  12. Hi igcse centre,
May I know will there be an exam going on in February and March?
Please reply as soon as possible. Thank you.

  13. Hi sorry to disturb, but do you know when you will be able to upload the Malay IG 2017 paper? Thank you for your amazing and life saving website!

    • Hi Golgi,

That is the paper we’re missing as well. We do not have a fixed schedule updating past exam papers, however, we will keep updating the past exam papers. Do check the page from time to time.

  14. Dear IGCSE Centre,
Thank you for providing an amazing database to us!
I know it’s late but this website helped every IGCSE student to score well.
I got 5A* in unexpected subjects and the credit goes to you too!

Well, I wanted to know when the CIE will be releasing the World merit list or the Toppers’ list for the Feb March Series?

    Thanks & Regards
    Vaibhav

  15. Hi there.
I think there is a mistake in the 0455/O/N/13/16 (october november multiple choice 13 economics paper). Because, for question 7, my teacher recently checked in the CIE teacher site and he found a different answer in the mark scheme & a different order of the options
    Could you upload it again?

    • Hi there,
Perhaps your teacher is using a different variant? The past paper that we have is clearly stated 0455/13.

  16. Dear IGCSE centre ,
Hey ! I just opened the Economics ( 455 ) folder and realized that you’v uploaded the grade thresholds for the feb/march series but you haven’t uploaded the papers ? Can you please upload the papers because I have my multiple choice question paper this Friday.
Please solve this problem as soon as possible !
    Merci

    • Hi, those are the papers we’re missing at the moment. You can use the older past exam papers as practice.

  17. Dear IGCSE centre,

I just want to know if i get around 155 out of 200 for both chemistry and physics, will i get A*? I am really worried about my marks. I am not convinced , thats why. Please reply. Thank you

    • Hi Bobby,

We can’t speculate that. You will have to refer to the grade threshold.

Every year, the exam questions have slight differences on the level of difficulty. In order to provide equivalent A* achieving chance, the threshold is used to determine the grades for that year. The grade thresholds are determined by a mixture of statistical evidence and the professional judgment of the principal examiners.

  18. Hello,
Last year (May/June 2016) I have done my IGCSE French First Language exam. I’ve gotten 74% and was accorded a B for this mark. However, when I look on this website, 69 was the lowest mark for an A (69 points out of 100 points is 69% so 74% would have been 74 points, so an A although I received a B). Should I be worried and ask questions to my IGCSE director or is it normal? I do not mind having a B it is just that it confused me and I would like clarifications.

  19. Dear IGCSE centre,
Can u please answer a ques?????
In subjects like eco 0455 the max raw mark(total)…is 120…..but in the thresholds its given as 150…after weighting…..can u pls say how this weighting is done?

  20. Dear IGCSE Center,
In one of my exams i have written the advantages and disadvantages for a question in the opposite delegated areas. I have however, labeled it to show what i have done. Is this okay? will i still be awarded marks?

  21. Dear IGCSE Centre,

How can we find information about the CIE Outstanding Learner Awards for May/June 2016 for each country?

  22. Dear IGCSE TEAM thanks so much for your hard work and endeavor which you put to giving out the question and answers on this site you guys are amazing please I am going to write my IGCSE next year but I don’t know anything about the exam am new to it and am not quite sure how it’s going to be. my teacher gave homework on the past question for economics 0455/22/m/2017 she asked that we do it according to the marking scheme, I checked but am not seeing the on for March 2017 I don’t know if it’s my browser or if it’s not been posted pls could you post it if it’s not been posted cause I really need it i have to submit on Monday thank you very much for your kind work and effort

    • Hi Prosofina,

Thank you for your kind words. You’re most welcome.

The Marking scheme is one the papers we’re missing at the moment.

  23. Dear IGCSE CENTRE…..
FOR SOME SUBJECTS LIKE ECONOMICS 0455 THE TOTAL MARKS IN THE THRESHOLDS ARE 150 EVEN THOUGH THE MAXIMUM RAW MARK ADDS UP TO 120….I KNOW WEIGHTING IS DONE….BUT CAN U PLEASE ELABORATE HOW?

    • Hi Anagh,

Just need to take your total marks and divide by 120 then times 150. For example: if your total marks is 100, then you can work it out as this way: 100/120 x 150. Hope this clarifies

  24. DEAR IGCSECENTRE,
I meant to say that they will understand it as question 1, but will they understand it as part E or part F ,if I wrote part F labelling by mistake beside answer of part E.

    • Hi,

Examiner will mark your answer according to your labeling. If you wish to find out if examiner will award marks if you labeled wrongly, you must write to CIE and get their confirmation. We cannot confirm on this part for you.

  25. Dear igcse centre…..
Can u please clear a doubt?
I wanted to know in the grade thresholds how is weighting done for subjects like eco…..like…..the total raw mark for 0455 is 120 but how is it converted to 150?????pls reply

    • Hi Ajb,

Just need to take your total marks and divide by 120 then times 150. For example: if your total marks is 100, then you can work it out as this way: 100/120 x 150

  26. DEAR IGCSECENTRE,
If in my sociology exam I wrote answer part E of question 1 .But when I wrote the answer I Wrote alphabet B In 2nd column as its labelling. So will the examiner understand answer of which question am I attempting or I mean they will not accept my answers.

    • Hello Ahnaf,
We think the examiner should be able to know which question it belongs to and award marks accordingly. Please do not worry about that, and keep going for the rest of your exams.

  27. Dear Igcse center,

I am giving my finals in oct/nov 2017, so is it a good practice to solve f/m papers or should we just stick to the summer and winter papers ?. One last question, how many years of papers should we do starting from …?

    • Hello Nisarg,
You can use all the exam series as your practices. You should start from the latest year’s papers, then work backward. Practise as many years as you could.

      • Ok sure and sorry for the inconvenience as there was some error in the comments so had to type it again. So 2017 to 2007

  28. Dear IGCSE center,

I am giving my finals in oct/nov 2017, so will it be a good practice to solve f/m papers or should we stick to the summer and winter papers. One last question, how many years of past papers should we practice ?

  29. Hi IGCSE Team,
I want to ask you about a calculation error I made in Physics Paper 42. It was a 4 mark question and in the beginning we had to multiply 2 numbers. The product was 325 but I wrote 300 in a hurry and used this number in my following calculations thus obtaining an incorrect answer. Am I going to lose all my marks because of this error even though all my method was correct or will the examiner mark be according to my incorrect calculation?

  30. Dear IGCSE Centre,

I am giving my IGCSE’s in Oct/Nov 2017, so is it fine if we practice the f/m papers or we should we stick to the summer and winter papers. One last question, how many years of papers should we do ?

  31. DEAR IGCSECENTRE,
In sociology exam by mistake I wrote answer of question e .But when I wrote answer of question e , I wrote f answer beside it by mistake. So do you think examiner can understand my problem and give me marks.

  32. Dear IGCSECENTRE,
By mistake in Sociology if my answer number don’t matches answer for ex : I am writing answer of question e . But when I am writing answer of question e ,I marked it by mistake as question f.So do you think examiner can understand my problem and gives me mark

    • messed up that 3 marks permutation question, can’t find cos a=√3/4, and also 2nd vector question. the rest pretty much fine and dandy

    • Hi Anon,

If you refer to the Economics past exam papers, there isn’t any instruction allowing the use of a calculator. If you’re unsure, please check with your school on the items permitted into the examination hall.
