Dear IGCSE centre,
I wanted to know when the 2018 October/November series for IGCSE will be posted…
Hello Howl,
We’ve uploaded few Oct-Nov 2018 IGCSE papers. Kindly check it again.
Hello IGCSE centre , this is Sonia from India. This website has helped me a lot! I’m having some difficulties in english language(0500) , could you please suggest me few things so that I could get good marks in this like my other subjects.
Hi Sonia,
We’re glad to help you. The most important things you need to do are: read a lot and write a lot. We can’t stress enough of “read a lot”. By reading, you will gain tremendous knowledge on how to phrase your sentences, types of vocabulary, style, etc… Besides reading, you ought to practise writing as well. You have to put to use what you have learnt.
You should start doing your revision based on the latest syllabus: (http://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-surebjects-syllabuses) and practice with the latest past exam papers (http://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/). Start with the latest paper as they have the newest syllabus format and continue with the older one date back from 5 to 10 years. Then, revise on the most common mistake you always seem to make.
You might be interested in our online revision course. The revision course provides video tutorial, revision timetable, downloadable exam-style practices, common mistakes candidates make during the exams, and also examiners’ advice. Our next revision course will be in March-April 2019. The registration will open one month before the revision course starts. We suggest that you subscribe to our newsletter so you won’t miss our announcement once the registration starts. Please kindly find out the details here: http://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses/
You may also be interested in our exam model answers. Many students scored A* by copying the style of the answers. Please check them out here: http://www.igcsecentre.com/igcse-exam-resources/
hello igcse my quire that i am appearing maths, biology, physics so i want that how can i improve in these subjects can you assest me inthis things please
Hi Smooky,
With these subjects, you’ll need a lot of practice. Start your revision as early as possible and spend at least 2 to 3 hours every day on revising:
1. Learn and understand the key concepts and formulas. Familiarise/memorise the key equations/formulas (refer to the latest syllabus on what is expected: http://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/).
2. Do revision based on the latest syllabus and practice with the latest past exam papers (http://igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/). Pay attention to the most common mistakes you always seem to make. Make notes and revise them, so you can avoid making the same mistakes in your actual exam.
Tips:
Minimize your reference checks. Try solving a problem with the formula without looking it up. You MUST do this as many times as you can. You will be able to remember the formulas/key equations better when you repeat this step.
hello igcse thank you for advise i want to know that today my result has declared and so i want to appear some exam in may june series so i want that how can i do my registration in may june series privately in india
Hi Smooky,
You may register as a private candidate. Just visit your local British Council and register there or or any registered Cambridge schools that accept private candidate. You can find the list of registered Cambridge schools here: http://www.cambridgeinternational.org/i-want-to/find-a-cambridge-school/
Dear IGCSE,
when can I issue my results for the October/November session 2018 and how am I supposed to receive it? Thanks for your cooperation.
Hi Soham,
Your school/examination centre will tell you when you will receive them. You might need to go to your school/examination centre to collect your results, or they might give you a password so that you can view your results on CIE secure website.
If you are a private candidate you will need to contact the exams officer at the school/exam centre where you have taken your exams.
You can read more here: http://www.igcsecentre.com/frequently-asked-questions-about-igcse-exam-results/
Can my Son take just ONE paper Chemistry in the Nov 2018 exam? Or must he retake the entire exam? He did Coordinated Science in June 2018 exam but he would like to take Single Sciences (only Chemistry paper) to meet the prerequisite for entry into Science foundation in Australia.
Hello Ho Lye Teo,
If he only needs Chemistry for his future studies, he may register for Chemistry (0620).
As a private candidate, you are free to register only 1 subject in one examination series. Therefore, he can take just ONE Chemistry (0620) in the Nov 2018 examination series. You need to hurry up to register him for the Nov 2018 series, because the last date for registration is on 21 September 2018. Please kindly check all the exam registration key dates here: http://www.igcsecentre.com/exam-registration-dates/

Hi Faisal,
If you’re planning to sit for your exams in India, the next examination series will be in March. Kindly visit the local British Council in India or please search for the nearest Cambridge school in your area here: http://www.cambridgeinternational.org/i-want-to/find-a-cambridge-school/ and ask if they accept private candidates.
Furthermore, kindly check the late entry deadline here: http://www.igcsecentre.com/exam-registration-dates/#March2019
When do ee know about the oustanding learners award?
How do we know that we are selected for the award?
Is there any indication given on certificate before announcement?
Hi Laiba,
There are 5 awards category issued by Cambridge Assessment International Education. First is the ‘Top in the World’ which refers to the learner who has gained the highest standard mark in the world for a single subject. ‘Top in Country’ refers to the learner who has gained the highest standard mark in your country for a single subject. ‘High Achievement’ is awarded to learners who have achieved outstanding results in subjects which are not so widely taken and which, under the current criteria, would not qualify for ‘Top in Country’ Awards. Learners who achieve the highest standard marks in Country in a particular subject will receive the award. ‘Top in Region’ awards are only recognised in Pakistan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. ‘Top in Region’ refers to the learner who has gained the highest standard mark in the region for a single subject. Lastly, the ‘Best Across’ award is issued to learners who have attained the first highest cumulative total standard marks in eight subjects.
However, Cambridge have set minimum entry thresholds for ‘Top in the World’ and ‘Top in Country’ awards. These thresholds are set to maintain the value and integrity of each award by ensuring that award-winning learners are selected from a sufficiently representative sample. If there are not enough entries worldwide, Cambridge will not award ‘Top in the World’ for that subject. If there are not enough entries for a subject from Country, Cambridge will not award a ‘Top in Country’ prize.
