Extremely well organised, intensive, focused and importantly, Time Management

The program was extremely well organized and spaced out in a manner that made it easy for him to watch the videos and complete the assigned tasks.

While the program was intensive and focused on the finer aspects of language skills, I firmly believe that it has also taught him some very important life skills - the first and foremost being time management.

Advance planning and a workable schedule for the duration of the course made the target achievable in a very comfortable manner. At no point of time did he feel as if he was rushed, this is in addition to being in the school basketball team , keyboard player in the band and other extracurricular activities. I will not hesitate to recommend these revision classes to my friends. Continue the good work, IGCSE Team.

Confidence has been instilled

Dear IGCSE Team,

I am writing to sincerely express my gratitude for the wonderful job that you TEAM are doing to ensure OUR children perform well in their exams. From the bottom of my heart, I am truly grateful. What I am grateful about is that this exercise has boosted his confidence to a level I had not seen before in the subjects that he took his revision in. Grades may say otherwise but for me that confidence has been instilled outside his usual classroom setting.

To any parents considering registering their children for this revision, I can attest that this revision is worth it not only to make the children get good grades but to also re-assure them that they just need the confidence to believe in themselves.

With many thanks,

  1. I’ll take my IGCSE on May 2021, so shall I join this course or the next one?
What does the course of each subject consist of?

    • Hello Nasr,

Thank you for your interest. If you wish to enrol for multiple subjects, you may consider joining our February session for a few subjects then a few later on our July session. In this way, you’ll have enough time to revise everything. If you wish to join our February session, we suggest that you register now as we are currently offering a 20% discount to the first 50 students.

When you join our online revision course, you will have access to revision notes, video tutorials, revision timetable, downloadable exam-style practices, common mistakes candidates make during the exams, and also examiners’ advice. Furthermore, past exam papers would be used as your practices and we will provide A* Model Answers to the chosen past exam papers free of charge. And for English subjects, you get to send one Reading paper and one Writing paper for marking. However, we only mark the paper we provided in our course, not your school’s homework. Kindly read the article above for more details.

    • Hello Daphne,

Thank you for your interest. Every year we have two revision sessions. The first one will be in February – April and the second one will be in July – September. You can decide if you need it earlier, or later. We suggest you take a few subjects next year, then a few later. So you have enough time to revise everything. But do take note that our revision courses follows the latest syllabus. We regularly update our content to reflect the changes in syllabus.

If you need further assistance, do not hesitate to leave us a message.

  2. I want to ask about the writing course in English as a second language, will it include how to write report, review, letter and e-mail?

    • Hello Marwa,

According to the 2019 syllabus set by CAIE (the exam board), question 6 would be to write a report, or a review or an article of approximately 100–150 words for Core and 150-words and for Extended, in response to a short stimulus. As such, there is no more fixed one format for this exercise. We suggest that you have to learn all formats: article, review, report.

But before you begin writing, decide if you’re going to write about the topic from two sides (for
and against) or from just one (your opinion). If you write a two-sided (balanced) piece of writing, remember to include your opinion in the last paragraph. If you want to write only from your own point of view, include it in the first paragraph.

Furthermore, try to think of your own ideas on the topic which match the task and include them in your writing. For each of the ideas included in your answer, support them with evidence or examples. Note, the examiner knows that the evidence or examples will be made up and doesn’t expect these to be correct.

Lastly, remember to organise your writing: include an introduction, a middle section and a conclusion.

  4. I would like to register in your courses and make the payment on a specific devise as someone else will be doing the registration for me. I would then like to access your courses on my own device, will that work?

Also, I am currently on holiday and the person who will be paying is in my home country which I will be returning to next week. 5. Dear IGSCE Team,

I would first like to thank you for providing such a helpful course.I am eagerly await to get A*.I am going to take my English exam in November 2019.

In addition, I have registered for the English First language 0500 reading but I still haven’t received the receipt. And I am finding some difficulties in filing in the form as I am a private candidate. Could you please help me and Thank you.

    • Hello there,

Thank you for you interest. The exam registration slip and candidate proof of identity (National ID/Passport) are required to enrol into our courses.

  6. Hello there,
I will be sitting for my ig exams next May June (2020). I would like to enroll in the three science subjects. Is that okay or will there be a change in content? Also, it’s quite late into August now. Can I still enroll in your courses? Will I be able to access the content I missed?

    • Hi Sara,

Thank you for your interest. For science subjects, next year’s examination will still follow the current syllabus. As such, you may register in this session. Last day of registration is on August 31. You still have lots of time to catch up and be back on track with our revision course. We provide a timetable and if you just follow through our timetable, each subject will take you around 30-60 minutes, more or less depending on the individual. We do not encourage long hours of studying. Our materials are updated and released weekly and you can access them throughout the course period.

      Register now at: http://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses/.

If you wish to wait, we will have another revision session next year. It would be good to take a few subjects this revision session, then few more in the next session March – April 2020. You may decide which is best for you.

    • Hello Ansh,

Usually, it is decided by teachers based on the achievement of the student in school. However, if you are a private candidate, you may choose based on your ability. You can read more here: http://www.igcsecentre.com/what-is-igcse/

The Core curriculum in each subject is within the ability range of a large majority of students. It provides a full overview of the subject and is targeted at students expected to achieve grades C to G.

The Extended curriculum, made up of the Core curriculum and the Supplement, has been designed for the more academically able and leads naturally into higher education or professional training. It is targeted at those expected to achieve grades A* to E.

If your child feels he/she can do better and enter Extended curriculum, you can accompany your child and discuss with the teacher. We understand the achievement in school doesn’t dictate the final outcome, as we have got many candidates below passing point before joining our online courses, and excel to grade A and A* in the actual IGCSE exams after taking our online courses.

You may want to consider these A* online courses for your child. Please read more here: http://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses/

  7. Hello Sir,
My son would be giving the may-june 2020 series of the examinations. We do not want to hold all subjects for march revision courses. Do you think he can take up physics and chemistry revision course happening in August. ? Please suggest. Thank you.
    Regards,
    Padma

    • Hello Padma,

Thank you for your interest. It’s never too early to join the revision courses. We suggest that you register him only for Sciences subjects this revision course as next year’s examination will still follow the current syllabus.

However for Math and English subjects, it is best that you wait for our next year revision course instead. There are some changes in 2020 syllabus for Math and English examinations. As such, we would change the content of our revision courses next year.

For the list of topics, you may check it here: http://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses/ and compare it with the syllabus here: http://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/

The exam registration slip and candidate proof of identity (National ID/Passport) are required to enrol into our courses. If hd will be registering for the June 2020 series and exam registration slip is not available, you may use both his passport and national ID. If further clarification is needed, our team will contact you.

  8. Hi,
I am sitting for the June series and I am homeschooled but I have a passport and national ID would this qualify me for attending your current courses? I don’t want to leave all the subjects for the March/April course.
    Thanks

    • Hello Ala,

Thank you for you interest. The exam registration slip and candidate proof of identity (National ID/Passport) are required to enrol into our courses. If further clarification is needed, our team will contact you.

We suggest that you register only for Sciences subjects this revision course as next year’s examination will still follow the current syllabus.

On the other hand for Math and English subjects, it is best that you wait for our next year revision course instead. There are some changes in 2020 syllabus for Math and English examinations. As such, we would change the content of our revision courses next year.

2.Do you have revision courses for As and A level subjects? If not can u recommend sites/resources?
    Thanks.

    • Hello Mary,

Thank you for your interest. We only offer the subjects listed above. As such, we do not have revision courses for commerce subjects and for AS/A-Level.
Furthermore, we currently do not have the capacity to add another subject for our revision courses. However, we will submit your suggestion for review.

  10. Will these courses be suitable for the Feb/Mar 2020 candidates as there are some changes specially in the Mathematics and EFL syllabi.

    • Hello Ala,

The content of our revision course follows the current syllabus for the current examination.

For the list of topics, you may check it here: http://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses/

For year 2020 examinations, we would change the content next year. We do not have a separate revision for March series. For March series candidates, you may consider to enrol this revision session, as all examination techniques are the same.

  11. Dear igcse centre,
Thank you very much for everything you provide for students. I wanted to ask, what is required to join your igcse online courses? It says that proof of candidate’s identitiy is compulsory, how does that happen? I will be sitting my exams in June

    • Hello Eman,

Thank you for your interest. The exam registration slip and candidate proof of identity (National ID/Passport) are required to enrol into our courses. If you will be registering for the June series and exam registration slip is not available, you may use your current school ID to prove that you are a student.

        • Hi Eman,

If you will be sitting in for June 2020 examinations, we suggest that you register in our March-April revision course next year.

The content of our revision course follows the current syllabus for the current examination and since there will be a change in the syllabus next year, we need to update our programme too.

        • Hi Khadija,

Thank you for your interest. We are afraid you might not have enough time to finish everything in time. If your exam is not this coming November series, you can wait for the next revision session next year. The next revision session would be from February-April 2020. Do subscribe to our newsletter so you won’t miss our announcement once the registration starts.

  13. Dear IGCSE Centre,
I have just started 10th grade but for my final 9th grade exams, my grades were 4 Bs and 2 Ds. My weakest subjects are Chemistry and ICT, however i also struggle with English and Maths. I would appreciate it if you could allow me to get my practise papers checked by an examiner, to know where i stand.

If there any more tips you have to helping me achieve all 6 A*, i would be happy to impliment them. Thank you for reading my message.

    • Hello Khushi,

Start as early as possible. You can revise the subjects from the beginning. Highlight the important facts that you think could be on the test (you should refer to the latest syllabus on what is expected during exams here: http://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/). You can then use the past exam papers as your revision. Start with the latest papers as they have the newest syllabus format and continue with the older ones date back from 5 to 10 years. Then, revise on the most common mistakes that you always seem to make. Pay attention to the most common mistakes you always seem to make. Make notes and revise them, so you can avoid making the same mistakes in your actual exam.

You can also check our A* online revision courses. These had helped numerous students to score A* The revision course provides video tutorial, revision timetable, downloadable exam-style practices, common mistakes candidates make during the exams, and also examiners’ advice. Every year we have two revision sessions. Our next revision session will be in August-September. Find out more here: http://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses/

    • Hi Sadhana,

Thank you for your interest. Our next revision course will be in August – September. Kindly subscribe to our newsletter for the announcement.

    Regards

    • Hi Al,

Thank you for your interest. Yes, you are free to do so. You can register in our next revision course in August and should you require additional revision, you can then sign up for the next year’s March revision as well.

Lastly, yes, the content of our revision course will be updated to reflect the syllabus change.

    • Hello Ruth,

Thank you for your interest. Yes, you may still register. Do take note that all the revision courses end on April 30 meaning you won’t be able to access the courses after the 30th of April – except for the downloadable materials which are your to keep.

But you still have time to complete everything if you register now. All you need to do is to double up the topics on a day. Currently there is only 1 topic scheduled daily/ every 2 days. You might also need to study over the weekend to finish everything in time and ready for your exam. If you agree to this, you are most welcome to register in our course.

    • Hi Swathi,

Can you please elaborate this further? If you mean if she can watch the videos multiple times, she is free to do so. All the videos will be available until the end of the course. However, we do suggest that she avoids carrying forward to the following week – it?ll be harder to catch up with the course by then.

    • Hi Sara,

Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately, we are still in the midst of creating A and AS Level revision courses.

    • Hi Abdul,

Thank you for you interest. Our A* online revision course is especially designed for students sitting in for their IGCSE or O-level exams.

        • Hello Abdul,

Please download the respective subject from Edexcel syllabus and the Cambridge (CAIE) syllabus, and make comparison of the syllabus scope. As far as we know, for most of the subjects are quite similar. But please bear in mind, that our revision course is targeted to achieve A* in CAIE exams (IGCSE and O-level) and the grading scheme may be different with GCSE.

Please download the course syllabus under each course description.

  15. Dear IGCSE Team,

I have enrolled my son for the March-April 2019 Online Revision course (ESL & Mathematics). He can managed to login at home yesterday night for online revision but not able to login when he tried at my husband office today (his laptop will display a message ” You are temporarily locked out” from Wordfence). Appreciate very much if you can advise if my son can only do the online revision at home and not else where ?(e.g. my husband office – we are not comfortable to leave him all by himself at home) TQ

    • Hi Chua,

He must first logout before he can login again on other device. We only allow one active session. Thanks.

    • Hi Mel,

Our revision courses are done through online. The revision course provides video tutorial, revision timetable, downloadable exam-style practices, common mistakes candidates make during the exams, and also examiners? advice. Every year we have two revision sessions. Registration is now open and the revision course will start in March 1.
