  1. Dear igcse
What is the recommended modules for a candidate who is taking A level maths(9709) and further maths(9231) together? I couldn’t find anything online.

      • Dear igcse

I meant like is there a recommended combinations of papers which I should take in A level maths(9709) that will be the best for also studying A level further maths(9231). For example if I choose to not do probability and statistics paper 6 in 9709 syllabus but I require the knowledge of this paper in further probability and statistics paper in 9231 syllabus.

        • Hello Anay,

AS & A Level Further Mathematics (9231) can be studied with AS & A Level Mathematics (9709). But it is expected that learners will have studied the majority of the Cambridge International AS & A Level Mathematics (9709) subject content before studying Cambridge International AS & A Level Further Mathematics (9231).

The AS Level syllabuses are not designed for taking AS Mathematics (9709) and AS Further Mathematics (9231) in parallel after only one year of study. This is because AS Further Mathematics (9231) topics may depend on assumed prior knowledge from A Level Mathematics (9709), such as the Paper 3: Pure Mathematics 3 subject content.

We suggest that you download the subject syllabus of Further Mathematics (9231) here: https://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-international-as-a-level-syllabuses/. It lists the the prior knowledge required for each Further Mathematics component as well as the routes through AS & A Level Mathematics and AS & A Level Further Mathematics.

          We hope this helps.

  2. Hey IGCSE Team,
I am in Hyderabad, India, and I wasn’t sure which paper code I was supposed to do for the past papers for AS level boards. Is it 11,21,31, or 12,22,32, or 13,23,33?

    Thanks
