If I opt for A level physics and want to complete A level without doing the Advanced practical skills paper is there a route for this? If not, then what is the difference between Advanced practical skills 1 and 2 is one of them easier?
You would need to take all 5 papers, including the Advanced practical skills, to complete the full A Level qualification.
Regarding the difference between Advanced practical skills 1 and 2, the two papers are equivalent in every respect, except they will contain different questions. Normally, the schools/exam centres decide which paper to enter their students for, based on the number of students and the laboratory resources available.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to write to us, and we’ll be happy to help.
I want to give 2 papers- paper 1 and paper 4 for As level maths 9709 in the November exam series. Am I eligible to register for only two components or is there a minimum number of components for me to opt for so that I meet the registration requirements?
Hello, I had a question regarding the math syllabus (9709) on the components we will be writing. I have finished my AS level papers (pure 1 and statistics) and I know in A2 level I will have to take Pure 3 and Mechanics or Statistics 2 (where I will be taking Mechanics) but my question is whether we have to write pure 1 and statistics 1 once again in A2 level, making that 4 papers?
Thank you
You do not need to retake Paper 1 and Paper 5. Cambridge International A Level offers a staged assessment route to take the AS Level in one examination series and complete the final A Level at a subsequent series.
We suggest that you coordinate with your exam centre to guide you with the registration process. We believe that they will require a subject code to carry forward your AS Level marks to a full A Level grade.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to write to us, and we’ll be happy to help.
Dear IGCSE Centre,
Do you by any chance have an idea when the results will be released for the students who wrote the CAIE IGCSE examination in March 2021?
Thank you for your visit! We have got a new site. Please go to our new site Skolatis.com to leave your comments and continue the hot discussions! See you there!
Hello IGCSE Team,
Just wanted to ask, is it true that grade boundaries will be assigned per country this year (2021), or will the calculations be done the usual way?
Hello Sarah,
CAIE, the exam board, has not released any official statement regarding changes with the marking and grading process.
We hope this helps. Thank you.
Thank you!
You are very much welcome, Sarah. We’re glad to help you.
