how can i concentreta for my exams plz help me
Hi,
You can try the following tips to help you concentrate:
When you?re studying, minimise your distractions, i.e. switch off your mobile phone, the TV, and if you don?t need to use your laptop for revision, turn it off and store it away. Study in an environment which you can concentrate best; could be somewhere quiet like the library, your room, or even at a cafe.
Prepare for your exams as early as possible. Create a realistic study timetable and follow it diligently. This will help you to complete the syllabus effectively. You can refer to this page for the latest syllabus: https://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/
Take a short break (keep it under 10 minutes) every hour or half an hour when you?re studying.
Start with topics that are relatively easy or interesting for you.
You must do your revision with past exam papers – start with the latest papers as they have the newest syllabus format and continue with the older ones date back from 5 to 10 years. Then, revise on the most common mistakes that you always seem to make.
Study with a friend or friends, ask/answer questions, discuss and share your thoughts with them – this makes studying more fun
Make notes
Hope this helps.
Hi Igcse Centre,
If I haven’t finish studying my textbook, then should I start doing past papers?
Hi Ally,
It depends how much time you have left. If you?re running out of time, you should start doing your revision based on the latest syllabus and practice with the latest past exam papers (https://igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/ ). Pay attention to the most common mistakes you always seem to make. Make notes and revise them, so you can avoid making the same mistakes in your actual exam.

hi, had a question regarding the type of pen i can use: can i use an erasable pens during the my final IGCSE exam.
thanks
Hi Pranav,
It is not advisable to use an erasable pen as the ink would get smudged or blurred out during the handling. If your answers were blurred out during the scanning, you will lose lots of precious marks. Just use normal black or dark blue ink pen – do not try to ?test? the examiners. This is your future, just follow the instructions.
You may find it is stated clearly on every exam papers that, ?Write in dark blue or black pen.?. So just use dark blue or black pen.
Hi IGCSE Center, i did a Coordinated Science 0654 past paper from Oct/Nov 2016 paper 31 and there is identifying placenta, amniotic fluid… on the test but is not mentioned specifically on the 2016 syllabus. On the syllabus, it only says indicate the functions. I also found that materials that are not mentioned or covered in the syllabus, also appear on past papers. My question is how reliable is the syllabus? Can i use it as a study guide?
Hi SivHong,
All exam questions will be based on the syllabus for that year. There are lots of changes in syllabus from year 2016. You can still use the past papers as your practice, however, you should pay attention to the changes of the syllabus.
