Respected IGCSE Centre,
What is the benefit of getting IGCSE learner award in a subject?
Does this makes easy to apply to number 1 universities like Cambridge?
Hi,
The IGCSE Learner Award is to recognise exceptional learner achievement in Cambridge examinations around the world. The primary purpose of these awards is to celebrate and recognise the success of high-performing Cambridge learners. You can read more here: https://www.cie.org.uk/cambridge-for/teachers/outstanding-cambridge-learner-awards/
While getting the Learner Award will give you some brownie points, it does not make it easier to apply to any top universities, especially Cambridge or any Ivy League universities. This is because these universities, sometimes, require more than just impressive grades. You will need to check with the universities on their admission requirement.
Respected IGCSE Team,
What kind of brownie points do you mean? For example?
Hoping to her from you soon,
Regards
For instance, extracurricular activities 🙂

Hi Jake,
We are trying our best to have the papers uploaded before the June exam series. In the meantime, you can revise using the older past exam papers.
Dear IGCSE Centre,
The 2017 specimen paper teachers notes for Spanish (Foreign language) are the French teacher notes. Please post the Spanish one.
Hi Kushal,
It has been updated. Please check again.
Respected IGCSE,
can we use informal words in english speaking 0510/51.
Hi Sakina,
Depending on what you?re speaking about, you can use informal words such as can?t, don?t, it?s etc… However, you can?t use ?mobile text words? such as gonna, dunno, gotcha, etc? You will need to pay attention to your grammar and sentence structures. You will also be assessed according to how well you can:
? communicate clearly, accurately and appropriately
? convey information and express opinions effectively
? employ and control a variety of grammatical structures
? demonstrate knowledge of a range of appropriate vocabulary
? engage in and influence the direction of conversation
? employ suitable pronunciation and stress patterns.
