  1. Der igcse centre,
Is it possible that the grade threshold come down? I mean can the total marks be lowered be case they seem to increase the threshold for most subjects by almost 10 marks every year!

    • Hi,

It is possible for the threshold to be lower but it really depends on the level of difficulty. Every year, the exam questions have slight differences on the level of difficulty. In order to provide equivalent A* achieving chance, the threshold is used to determine the grades for that year. The grade thresholds are determined by a mixture of statistical evidence and the professional judgment of the principal examiners.

  2. Guys how was international mathematics paper 6, variant 62 ?? I personally felt it was easy how about you all ??

  3. Dear IGCSECENTRE,
You are really an amazing and helpful site moreover clearing confusion of students .So this time I hope you will help me
I have done a mistake this time in exam of writing a formula like I have written equal to 0 after writing formula and the formula was a quadratic function of finding two values of x. My formula and answers came correct but I have written equal to 0 by mistake. So if this question is of 7 marks .Do you think really I am going to lose all 7 marks or getting partial marks or examiners will not take this problem that much seriously. So IGCSECENTRE Please give me your reply.

    • Hello Ahnaf,
Thank you for your kind words. 🙂

First of all, you have done this mistake, so let’s move on and concentrate in the rest of your exams.

Secondly, you won’t lose ALL 7 marks. You will still gain marks for the rest of the steps, and the correct answers. 🙂
