Hi,
Does the vocabulary level and different sentence structure affect our marks in 0500 first language english. Does usage of some sophisticated and complex sentences help get good grades?
Hi Pavan,
First of all, having a wide range of vocabulary helps in articulating/express your ideas, thoughts when you?re writing. However, this does not mean that you will get better grades when you use complex sentences.
If you refer to the syllabus here (https://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/) , you can see that you will be assessed on your ability to:
1. articulate experience and express what is thought, felt and imagined
2. sequence facts, ideas and opinions
3. use a range of appropriate vocabulary
4. use register appropriate to audience and context
5. make accurate use of spelling, punctuation and grammar
Go through the syllabus to get a better idea of what is expected of you 🙂
Where can I find Edexcel past papers as I do Edxecel for accounts and economics, can you help me with the website for the papers?
Hi,
We do not have any materials on Edexcel, kindly get them from Edexcel?s website. You can consider searching on Google for the papers.
Dear IGCSE Centre, Is Science a compulsory subject needed in order to pass my IGCSE’s? I am a privet candidate and I’v omitted Science from the list of IGCSE subects that I will be taking into examination, instead I will be taking the following 4 IGCSE subjects; ICT, Art and Design, Mathematics and First Language English. I will also be combining it with one Cambridge O Level subject, that is Religious Studies Bible Knowledge. That makes a total of 5 subjects. Will this be sufficient enough to show that I have passed my GCSEs? Please let me know as soon as possible 🙂

Hi Anna,
IGCSE and O Level are two different examinations. You must confirm the acceptance from the university. Some universities do accept a combination of certificates, while some don?t.
