I have my history (0470) paper 4 and I’m really scared because we’re the first batch writing a forty mark answer, and I don’t know what to expect. The mark scheme is really vague too. I also don’t know what type of question it will be. The sample paper gave importance of Goebbels and Stresseman (depth studies Germany) but I don’t know if it will be on another person or like something else. What do other people think?
Hey!
I’m doing the paper 4 as well on Wednesday.
It is tricky, yes. But we know it’s a depth study question (Germany during the two wars).
So what our teacher said was that the only questions we can get are of those topics where we can write a good detailed essay. It won’t be a question where there isn’t much to write. It’s going to be one that’s got like a wide range of arguments for and against.
Hope that helps.
What type of questions are you guys preparing for for the 40 mark German depth study paper? And how much do you’ll write for it? My teacher’s barely given us any practice and so I’m so confused!
History Paper 4 contains all of the Depth Studies and we can choose, right? Because you just mentioned Germany, but I’ve studied the USA Depth Study. And the answer should be in essay format, shouldn’t it?
Yup it’s all the depth studies – we’ve chosen German.
Any tips on scoring an A* for Business 0450????
Omg I’m really scared for business cuz I find it really hard especially paper 2….
The thing with business is that you have to know the key ideas so that you can elaborate and take it as a whole so when answering the questions relate all the topis with each other. solve past papers and have the book next to you so when you doubt yourself go over the part
SOLVE A LOT OF PAST PAPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
and memorize the definition of all the highlighted words in your book
Thanks! this paper is hard to score in! the marking scheme is VERY specific 🙁
what happens if we don write the question number in english?
Examiners will have to do more work to identify which question you chose… thank you for your extra hard work examiners!
Hey Guys so how does cabridge weigh their grades for biology i heard it was like 30 percent for p1 and 20 for p6 and 50percent for p3. How is it possible that its out of 200?
OMG even I had that same doubt!! I’ve been thinking about it for like a year now lol
You can always check the syllabus to see the weight of the various papers! As far as I know its 30% for Paper-1, 50% for Paper-3 and 20% for Paper-5 and Paper-6
christopher
25% paper 1
25% paper 6
50% paper 3
So each paper has a certain weightage. Paper 1 is 30%, Paper 3 is 50% and Paper 6 is 20%. If you get 36/40 in Paper 1 which is 90% and according to the weightage of Paper 1 is 27%. If you get 72/80 in Paper 3 which is 90% and according to the weightage of Paper 3 is 45%. If you get 32/40 in Paper 1 which is 80% and according to the weightage of Paper 6 is 18%. So when you add your total percent it is 88%. This is your percentage grade. Each paper has a different grade threshold. If your total score in all three papers is 140/160 and the grade threshold for A* in that exam which you took is 143/160 then your grade is an A. So your mark which you get is 88% and an A grade. About the mark on 200, I think it is for the people who write coursework (see in the biology syllabus) otherwise usually for the people who write Paper 1, Paper 3 and Paper 6 the total score is 160.
Hope this helps!
paper 3 is out of 80 marks but they take 50% of what you got out of the 80 marks
p1 and 6 too if you sum up the marks of the 3 papers, you’ll find they add up to 200
basically u find out ur grade as per this weightage, and then use basic math to find out how much it wud out of 200
Hi, I’ve recently took my Biology p6 external for igcse.
I found the external tough because I wasn’t familiar with some of the questions, that made me create a mess on a question. I ended up leaving a note to the examiner telling them to refer to the blank page for the answer. Is that alright? I’m nervous and I feel that I might have lost a lot of marks since my paper was messy.
Im not sure if the blank paper gets scanned or not! If it does then im sure they wont worry about the “messy” paper don’t sweat it! They aren’t evil or anything haha
hey jane. the same thing happened to me. i messed up in the test tube questions where they asked us to describe the volume and appearance of test tube A and B. i scribbled on my answer because i misread the question. so i wrote my answer on the blank page and wrote “answer is on blank page 10” then i asked my teacher if it was ok and she said it was alright because they give us the blank page for a reason.
dnt worry i did the exact same thing and my teacher told me tht it was okay to do tht as long as you indicate tht u hv witten on the blank pg
