IGCSE team any tips?
Hey! First of all, thank you very much for this website! It’s like a boon to all of us giving the IGCSE Examinations. This website help me boost my grades from an A grade to A*! I would just like to clarify a few things:
-In the 0500 English as a First Language Paper, I wrote about a creature which is fictional, although I wrote the reason why it exists. Will this cost me marks?
-In the Physics Paper-5, I wrote the readings wrong like thrice, and so I had to write my readings out of the box given. Will the examiners cut marks for thinking that I might have guessed the results?
Hey Alan,
Thanks for your kind words! 🙂
For English First Language, it is very fine to write fictional character. As long as you wrote it well.
For Physics, as long as you cross out the wrong answers ‘neatly’ and put the right one, it is fine.
I am afraid I didn’t cross it out neatly, although my results can be seen visibly.
hello,
i really have problems solving maths paper 4… how should i prepare for it. Now I have solved almost all papers from 2007 to 15, and it too confusing. Can u pls help me out
Thank you
Whatever didn’t come in paper 2, might come in paper 4, thats what many people say, so practice circles and mensuration and locus, and focus on transformations? And function graphs!
Here’s what I’m doing
Do past papers and if there’s something which i could not do, I would practice them right from the text book and would continuously do so until it’s stuck inside my head.
how should i prepare for my maths paper4… i really find it very hard…

no magan
i got locus and transformation
v1?
Really? Im doing paper 22 and I didn’t get transformations
do u have a math book?
or u just solve past papers directly?
if u have a math book
start by solving at least 1/4 the total exercises in every lesson to get used to the basics….carry a white paper with u while solving and write all formulas and rules in each and every lesson to summarize everything
(u should have done this long time ago though…its ok..late better than never)
once done start with 2009 solving as much as u can papers to get used to the way they ask the question….solve without looking at the markscheme then check ur answers…if u got it wrong solve it again
make sure u dont make a silly mistake…by concentrating while solving….
“focus” this is the key to an A* in maths
remove any sort of distraction and try to solve while ur in the room alone…
good luck! 🙂
I’m not sure about math, but for english, I’m guessing your teacher should have told you..My teacher did and our mock exam was the same format.
