Hello IGCSE
Do all schools need to strictly follow the overall threshold?
Because I checked the overall grade threshold for Hindi as a Second language (0549) and it says that A* starts from 74 but even though I got an 85, my grade is A.
I got the threshold from this website https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/images/472373-hindi-as-a-second-language-0549-.pdf
Hi Alex,
Kindly coordinate with your school/exam centre directly regarding this matter. Only your school/exam centre could provide the explanation.
This article might help as well: https://www.igcsecentre.com/guide-to-the-marking-and-grading-process-of-exam-papers/
Alex,
The 85 you got was your percentile. The A* starts from 74/90 which means if one obtains that mark their percentile is 90 so they obtain A*. If your percentile is 85, it means that you have actually got lower than the 74/90 minimum mark required to get A* but, your percentile is higher because only 15 percent of the students who appeared for the exam series 2018 Feb March Hindi as a second language (0549) performed better than you did.
Hi! Has February March 2018 papers been released yet? I thought it was supposed to be released on the 17th?
Hello,

BIOLOGY AND GEOGRAPHY
ALSO, I GOT 2 A’S IN ENGLISH AND FRENCH.
Moreover, I GOT 100% IN MATHS AND I AM DECLARED AS THE WORLD TOPPER. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU A LOT AND THIS WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DONE WITHOUT YOU
Congratulations, Neel! Great work and we?re glad you find our website/resources helpful.
SHOULD I CONTINUE WITH CAMBRIDGE AS AND A LEVELS OR NO
It really depends on what you want to do in the future. If you want to continue for further studies, you can proceed to any A level/IB/any equivalent qualification, then university.
Moreover, have you thought what you like to specialise in (college/university) after your A-levels? This will help you decide the subjects you need to take. Students typically study four subjects at AS-level and three subjects at A-level. The standard admission requirement for UK universities is three A-level subjects.
thanks a lot for your help!!!!…….
You’re welcome!
