Hello,
IGCSE Centre I just wanted to ask whether for French as a Foreign Language (0520) Paper 4 in the 130-140 word Essay (Question 3) in earlier years there used to be a rule in the mark scheme that stated that if a candidate wrote above the word count he or she would be penalised as only till the 140th word would be marked by the examiner. However, looking at recent years and papers the mark scheme had stated that the candidate may have not followed the instructions and that this is fine. So my question is now that if you write above the word count will you still be penalised? Please reply as soon as possible.
Hello Harsh,
The recommended word count for both Question 2 and Question 3 are not mandatory; candidates should not feel obliged to remove significant detail in order to meet the word count. However, answers to Question 3 in excess of 200 words are inappropriate and in this instance candidates should be advised to be more selective. Kindly download the Examiner Report for reference, https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/images/424470-june-2016-examiner-report.pdf.
In Physics (0625) Paper 4 will you get marks for writing the equation, even if you substituted incorrectly and the final answer was incorrect. If you wrote the correct equation will you get the compensatory method marks (C1 marks). Please reply as soon as possible
Hi Harsh,
If you write out all the working for your calculation, it can gain partial marks for the method even if there?s a mistake with the final answer. If this question permits carried forward mistaken, then you will still gain marks accordingly.
but, if you only write the equation and show no working and the answer is still wrong can you get C1 marks for the equation. Please reply ASAP
Yes,
I found out you can still get the C1 marks for Physics (0625). Please reply to the question regarding the French (0520) word count for paper 4 question 3 as soon as possible. Please. Thanks
