    • Hello Avanea,

Do not worry. Any blank pages that are used by a candidate in the examinations are scanned and marked as long as you properly label it.

  2. Woah! The past papers are back! Thank you for your hard work, team 🙂 I’ll definitely be ordering the A* model answers soon now

  3. Hi, do you have any tips for English as a 1st language? it would be really great if u could share some insight bcos I’m very worried about my English paper.

    • Hi Joseph,

First of all, relax. Make sure you’re well rested before you sit for an examination. Then, do targeted revision. Revise on the most common mistakes you always seem to make. Read and annotate your textbook for the questions you got wrong. This is because you won’t have much time to go through the whole textbook. Then, re-do those questions you got wrong.

At this point of time, you shouldn’t rush to practice lots of past exam papers. This would stress you out. Just take all your previous practices, and go through all the common mistakes that you normally make. Go through them with a calm mind, and not beat yourself up for the mistakes that you had done. Take deep breath.

Here are some tips for you:

Every word counts. Our suggestion is not to write too much. Aim for quality rather than quantity. This means to focus more on writing excellent English rather than a long essay. On a side note, if you are writing a summary – DO NOT exceed the word limit.

Kindly read this article to help you with your writing: https://www.igcsecentre.com/9-powerful-tips-to-score-in-writing/

You may also check out our A* model answers here: https://www.igcsecentre.com/igcse-exam-resources/. Many candidates scored A* by simply copying the style of the answers in their exams.

  5. Hello,

Thank you and wish me luck!

    • Hello Jassim,

Here are some tips for you:

Read the command word carefully. This will help you know exactly what you need to do for each question. Make sure you answer the question set and do not waste time developing points if knowledge is all that is required. Some questions will relate to just knowledge, where you need to show wider knowledge of a topic. Other questions will ask to apply your knowledge to the scenario.

There are questions that will require you to use your knowledge and understanding to explain your answer and put your answer in context. You need to develop points and use the information from the scenario to help support the points you make. Explain why, don’t just describe. For example, show why something is an advantage, and not simply that it is. And for questions that ask you to make a decision or judgement using questions such as do you think, recommend, or justify, explain your decision by comparing factors, options or different points of view to give a balanced explanation.

      Hope this helps.
