Dear IGCSE team,
Thank you for the risks you have taken for recovering the site.
Can you tell me the ways for getting good grades in ICT,0417?
Hi Agnes,
Thank you for appreciating our effort. The key to get good grades is to practice lots of past papers. It will help you familiarise with the question format. Start with the latest one and then continue with the older one date back from 5 to 10 years. You may download the past papers here: https://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/
We also suggest that you download the Examiner’s Report and study what are the needed points to gain marks. You could also learn the common mistakes candidates made during the exam.
Dear IGCSE Centre Team,
Thank you for all your hard work.
I would like to ask you about the IGCSE Hindi as a Second Language March 2019 Listening Paper. The audio seems to be unavailable wherever I look. I was just curious as to why this has occurred. I have heard that the audio quality was not great, but I am unsure…
Thanks and regards,
D
Hello Dhruv,
Thank you for your kind words. As of the moment, we are still looking for Hindi as a Second Language March 2019 audio files. We will upload them as soon as we get ahold of them. Kindly check our page from time to time. Thank you.
hey igcse
i am in x grade proceeding towards my igcse board exams
i am almost done with my past papers
so is it ok if i practice o-levels paper
or it is not worth doing it..
Hi Kunj,
IGCSE and O Level have slight differences in the syllabus, depending on the subjects. The style of the exam papers are different as well. We do not encourage to practise O Level papers, however, you are free to do so if you wish to proceed.
We suggest that you do targeted revision. Take all your previous practices, and go through all the common mistakes that you normally make. This way you can learn what you did wrong and avoid them in your actual examinations.
You might be interested in our Exam Model Answers. You can see what an A* answer looks like for the respective exam papers. Many students scored A* by copying the style of the answers. Please check them out here: https://www.igcsecentre.com/igcse-exam-resources/.
Dear IGCSE Centre,
When will the pre-release material for the May/June 2020 series of IGCSE Computer Science (0478) be available for students to view?
Hello Vaivi,
We suggest that you contact the CAIE coordinator in your school and ask them directly.
Alright. Thank you for your prompt response.
Hi Vaiki,
You are very much welcome.
Hi IGCSE team,
I heard that the IGCSE examiners correct the essays very strictly and we need to be cautious about the word limit. If we exceed it they would cancel the lines after that and not bother to read ahead. I am taking english 0500 and french 0520. Should I concentrate more on the content or on the word limit?
Hello Supriya,
For English First Language (0500), you will not be penalised if you exceed the word limit in an essay writing. However, you have to make sure you can finish all the writing on time. If you wrote under the word limit, chances are you did not provide enough points to answer the questions, and might end up getting a lower score.
Our advice is not to write too much. Aim for quality rather than quantity. This means to focus more on writing excellent English rather than a long essay.
On a side note, if you are writing a summary, DO NOT exceed the word limit. It is best to write a cohesive piece of writing, with ideas presented in a logical sequence. Use linking words and phrases to connect ideas.
On the other hand for French as a Foreign Language (0520), the recommended word count for both Question 2 and Question 3 are not mandatory; candidates should not feel obliged to remove significant detail in order to meet the word count. However, answers to Question 3 in excess of 200 words are inappropriate and in this instance candidates should be advised to be more selective. Kindly download the Examiner Report here: https://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/
Hope this helps.
