Dear IGCSE Centre, I’m very thankful for you posting these papers. Can you give some tips for scoring marks in MCQ papers
Hi V S Varshith,
You are very much welcome.
Here are some tips for you:
– Work through the paper carefully. Do not miss out any question for any reason – you may then start placing your answers in the wrong places.
– Do not attempt to look for any pattern or any lack of pattern in the answers. In other words, do not worry about how many questions have been answered A, B, C or D and do not worry about the distribution of As, Bs, Cs and Ds.
– Be confident in answering the questions. When you are well-prepared, confidence will follow.
Hope this helps.
Is there a penalty for going over the word limit in English 0500/22 Creative Writing paper, because I went a little overboard on my paper and might have written a hundred and a half words over the limit
Hello Abhijeet,
You will not be penalised if you exceed the word limit in an essay writing. The number of words suggested is for guidance. Paying attention to the guidance for word limits will help you to plan your time in the examination and target the requirements of each question more effectively.
And I have an evm exam tomorrow and I need help
What should I do
Hello Ethan,
At this point of time, you shouldn’t rush to practice lots of past exam papers. This would stress you out. Just take all your previous practices, and go through all the common mistakes that you normally make. Go through them with a calm mind, and not beat yourself up for the mistakes that you had done. Take a deep breath.
Hi IGCSE,

Hi Ethan,

Hello IGCSE
I have written my igcse exams for feb/march 2020 examinations but im quite stressed for my english paper as i havent completely completed one of my papers. Like i have left the last two questions on my paper 1 unfinished is this going to have a big effect pls reply as soon as you can
Hi Harshini,
The examiner will mark your paper accordingly. Unfortunately, those unfinished sections will not gain any marks.
At this point, worrying will do nothing for you. We suggest that you relax and take some deep breaths. Concentrate on the rest of the subjects, and reminding yourself on happy moments would definitely help.
Hello igcse team
could you please help me how to get good grades in business studies becuase i failed at the first time, i wanna score atleast B this time plase help.
Hello Mohamed,
The key to get good grades is to practice, practice, and practise. Start doing your revision by understanding what is expected of you by downloading the latest syllabus here: https://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-surebjects-syllabuses. Then practice with the latest past exam papers. Start with the latest paper as they have the newest syllabus format and continue with the older one date back from 5 to 10 years. Then, revise on the most common mistake you always seem to make.
Here are some tips on answering the paper:
Demonstrate the application of knowledge and concepts using the given scenario. This doesn’t mean simply referencing the business name. Analyse the issues faced and make suitable recommendations as to what this particular business should do. Always use the information provided in the case study or question stem as a guide in considering what to write.
Hope this helps.
