  1. How many marks will u lose for not writing sunlight and chlorophyll in the balanced chemical equation for photosynthesis for 3 marks??

    • If its bio P32 then you wont loose any marks 🙂 cuz they didn’t give any space to write conditions! btw what was your hydrogencarbonate answer and why?

      • hey, type this question in here the nxt time u see ur comment plz. i ve done 31, but i wanna know that hard question ? hope its not silly at the end

      • I wrote color change is yellow, Because hydrogen carbonate is the source for the C02 needed for the photosynthesis reaction to occur, and co2 is slightly acidic when its taken in the solution starts becoming neutral as water is still present and because 02 is given out which basic and so giving the rise from 7pH to 7.6 🙂

          • i wrote yellow at first but then scratched it out and wrote purple which i thought was right.

          • The answer is purple. This is because hydrogen carbonate is alkali already, so as the acidic CO2 is used in photosynthesis, the solution becomes less and less acidic, until it’s purple. Type ‘hydrogencarbonate indicator solution photosynthesis bbc gcse’ in google and open up the bbc website page. It’s explained that the test tube with the highest photosynthesis rate will be purple in colour. 🙂

          • wts how are we even supposed to know that?! this is chemistry and urgh goddamn this question cie :@ y do they like torturing us?? I wanna die I swear 🙁

          • Hi Anon,
CIE is not torturing anyone… This is just an exam, everyone goes through it 🙂 – Just keep going for just few more days 😉

  2. Dear igcse team,
In subjects such as biology or business do you usually get penalized if you exceed and write below the given lines if you run out of space?

  3. Dear igcse team,
I think my paper 3 bio was the worst out of the three paper. Is there still a chance of getting an A if I did well in paper 1 and 6.

    • Hey Irene,

That is going to be tough because paper 3 carries the most marks. But if you did really well in the other two papers you might still get it. Don’t worry about it now though. Keep going strong for the rest of your subjects! 🙂

    • for the bio paper 12, the height of the 500 peas ques, did you write it was continuous variation only, discontinuous variation only, both or none??

      • I think it was both because height is an example of continuous variation and also the bars on the graph were not touching each other, which shows discontinuous variation.

          • I wrote both because there is an example of continuous (bell shape curve) and discontinuous (the absence of any bars in between the two bell curves).

        • I wrote both because there is an example of continuous (bell shape curve) and discontinuous (the absence of any bars in between the two bell curves).

          • in almost all my exams until now i wrote with my usual handwriting and im so freakn scared that examiners may not recognize mu handwriting and fail in all my exams .my teachers can read my handwriting from my school exams well .only the math that was hard
