Hi, a couple of questions:
1. can a student sits for 2 IGCSE exam of Eng as 1st (0500) and 2nd language (0510) ?
2. what is the min age to sit for IGCSE exam?
3. my son is year 10 and taking his IGCSE next year May/Oct. Can he start the revision classes now or would it be too advance for him?
4. will my son be able to log in to the revision class after a year of registering or is there a limited time period?
5. when are the revision classes held besides Feb?
6. Is the May or Nov sitting any easier than Oct sitting for any specific paper like English?
Hi Esther,
Here are the answers to your questions:
1. It is stated on the CIE syllabus that “No candidate may enter for more than one English Language subject.” Please click on below link to view the syllabus, on page 8: https://www.cie.org.uk/images/164336-2016-syllabus.pdf
You can always confirm with CIE for this.
2. The minimum age is 14.
3. We would suggest to wait till the next session, if he is only starting year 10. Though we also have some students taking our courses in year 10, and they have shown great improvement in the school’s exams.
4. There is a time limit for our revision courses. Please read above.
5. Our revision courses are held twice a year. Once in March, and the other in August.
6. There are only 2 examination series in a year, once in May/June another in Oct/Nov. There is no “Oct sitting” as a single examination series. All the examination series has equal level of difficulty.
Can you tell me if that revision classes are usefull for Y10 for 2 years IGCSE courses? Also, do you think that for Business Studies your revision can help a student who should take Edexcel exam?
Hi Bogdana,
We have got students signing up while they are in Year 10. They have achieved great improvement for the school’s exams. If you do not want to start the course so early, you can always wait till your exam year.
For Edexcel students, you must compare the CIE syllabus with the Edexcel syllabus. If you find they have similarity, and you would like to enrol into our classes, you are definitely most welcome.
Hi mu son is in 9 grade Indud valley in pune bording school. How he can use thus facility ? In which months exam is easier for him in 10 grade. So we can plan.
Hi Druvi,
If your son is taking the March series examination, please register him during the Oct/Nov series revision classes, which will commence in August. Otherwise, you can always register him during the May/June series revision classes.
Hi Arya,
The March series is only available for India. Therefore, we have mentioned for students taking the March series, please take the revision classes for the Oct/Nov series. We can’t make a special session just for one country, and it will jeopardise our yearly schedule for the rest of the world.
Thank you for your visit! We have got a new site. Please go to our new site Skolatis.com to leave your comments and continue the hot discussions! See you there!
