Dear IGCSE team, i was wondering if it is acceptable to write answers under the lines if the space provided is not enough. I come across this problem a lot while practicing past papers. I would really appreciate an answer

  Hi Simon,
  It is not advisable to write below the lines. As your answers won’t fit into the scan screen. Just ask for another piece of paper or write on the next available lined page. Make sure you have labeled this new page correctly and bind them together.

  We do not think so you could use traditional Chinese characters if it is meant for Simplified characters. You can always write to CIE to get the confirmation on this part.

  We suggest you to look into the future study that you wish to take. If your future study requires a certain minimum grade for Maths, then you ought to re-take again. This is for your future. There is no such thing as “saved a year”. If you need to resit in the coming session, just do it 🙂
  
  The most important thing is, you must work on how to achieve higher grade.

  If you would like to register for the exam as a private candidate, please proceed to register with your local British Council. Just pay them a visit and find out the registration process from now.
