  1. Dear IGCSE team, i was wondering if it is acceptable to write answers under the lines if the space provided is not enough. I come across this problem a lot while practicing past papers. I would really appreciate an answer

    • Hi Simon,
It is not advisable to write below the lines. As your answers won’t fit into the scan screen. Just ask for another piece of paper or write on the next available lined page. Make sure you have labeled this new page correctly and bind them together.

  2. Hi there , may I ask that in the mandarin igcse , are you allowed to use traditional chinese characters . Thx

  3. Hi im from india I gave my ihcse exams in may-june 2015 and scored 4 (c) grades and 1 (d) grade and a (u) grade in math i gave a retest in oct november and scored an (e) in math nobody is telling me anything i need to know if ive passed i cannot let 2 years of my life be wasted when i collected my results for maths in jan 2016 no one mentioned anything about failing from my school not even in may june 2015 i should have known about the passing system i would have taken 2 retests instead of one and saved a year please help me out

    • Hi Ram,
We suggest you to look into the future study that you wish to take. If your future study requires a certain minimum grade for Maths, then you ought to re-take again. This is for your future. There is no such thing as “saved a year”. If you need to resit in the coming session, just do it 🙂

The most important thing is, you must work on how to achieve higher grade.

  4. Hi
I’m from India. I’m running a school. I’d like to take the IGCSE syllabus for my school. But I need to know a few details. For the board exam is one more language other than English mandatory to take?

  5. Hi IGCSE! I wanted to know about the so called “passing curve” that you may or may not have? I dont know much about it, can you please explain? And I take 7 subjects in school (9th) but will be giving 3 in the next Oct/Nov session 2016 privately, is that okay? And when is it possible for me to register?

    • Hi Nadiya,
If you would like to register for the exam as a private candidate, please proceed to register with your local British Council. Just pay them a visit and find out the registration process from now.

You may download the grade threshold and find out about the “passing curve”.
