  1. DEAR IGCSE

    I want to register my son as a private candidate. He will be 13 years by October studying in a public school in Nigeria . When is the best and earliest time to enrol. Please kindly educate me on everything needed

      We suggest you to first check with your local British Council on: available subjects for your area, exam registration dates, fees, etc etc…

      Next, you must plan a study programme for your son to complete all the IGCSE syllabus prior to taking the exams. You may download the syllabus here: https://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/

      Please do not rush to sit for the exams. The most important thing is, your son must be fully ready for the exams.

  2. I have just got my result for IGCSE exam 2016 with an A*, 3 Cs, D, and E. Will this result qualify me to join university? Thank you.

    • Hi Ahmed,
      First of all, you must know what do you want to study in the university. Later on, find out the minimum entry requirement needed for that course. If the minimum entry requirement is Grade B for the subject that you have gotten Grade E, you might need to re-sit this subject.

    please spare 5 min of your time reading this.

    Firstly i would like to say thank you very much, you have helped me so much when i was sitting for my IGCSE exam. I thought i couldn’t make it,i was on the verge of giving up. But i decided to send you a message, and that one message has changed my whole mind set. Whenever i was on the verge of giving up when i’m stressed, i look back to what you have replayed me.To you it might just be a small case because you always respond to students and help them out, but for me it was a really big issue because the respond just kept me going you know.I will be getting my results tomorrow at 4:00pm and i know i can make it to college because i know i worked hard enough.I made this far thanks to you , thanks for all the tips , the notes , the past year papers and mainly thanks for reading this.

      • Hi IGCSE CENTRE, thank you for helping me out during exams. I got 5A*s, 2As and a B. I got 96% in Math and I wanted to know how do you know if you qualify for a best in anything (country, continent, world). It may sound high hopes! But I really worked hard but it’s not written on the results script so does that mean I didn’t qualify for that?

          The best award will be announced by CIE. It is best to write to CIE and ask them when are they going to announce that. 🙂

        How are you guys in igcse center i just wanted to ask you about my igcse result and will it qualify me to the university from grade 10 or not and is f considered as fail or pass in the igcse exams, I have got 1A, 3C, 2D, 1f and if you can evaluate my result please thank you.

          We are afraid grade F is considered fail. If this is not the required subject as entry requirement to the course that you’re going to take in the university, it is fine. However, if this is the required subject, you might need to resit this subject.

      O Level usually starts from Grade 10, in school. If you are a private candidate, you can register for the exam whenever you are ready. For mechanical engineering, we suggest these subjects: English, Maths, Additional Maths, Physics, Chemistry.
