  1. If I take Igsce’s O-levels in one country, and I transfer to another country to continue the rest of my levels, will it be okay or will I be placed in a crisis?

    • Hi Mariam,
We do not understand what do you mean by “crisis”.

However, if you are taking IGCSE, you can continue the rest of the subjects in different country. As for O-Level, it is a group award. Please make sure which exam board that you’re taking.

  2. Hi My wife and I are homeschooling 2 kids. The oldest is 9, the second one is 4 years old. Is there any study material for these age groups. How do I help these kids write exams to check how they are progressing? I live in Pune, India. How do the Colleges ,Universities in India consider IGCSC home schooled kids? Any information will be gratefully received. Thanks.

    • Hi Vineet,
There are no exams or tests available for home-schooled kids. You may use some reference books as test preparation for them.

  3. Hi. My 14 years old son is studying at Int’l school in Malaysia. He is in Year 9 and intend to transfer Int’l school in Singapore.

Usually student study for 5 years (Year 7 to 11) for IGCSE in Malaysia, but only 4 years(Grade 1 to 4) in Singapore. It means, he has 2 more years to sit IGCSE exam in Malaysia, but only 1 year if he transfer to Singapore.

Is it possible to study in 1 year for sit IGCSE exam?

    • Hi Camilla,
It is possible to do so, as many private candidates are doing IGCSE in one year. However, you must ask your son if he is comfortable in doing so.

You might also need to check with the school in Singapore if they do accept new student in the exam year. Most schools would not accept new student at final year.

    • Hey Jourdan,
Congratulation on the achievement! 🙂 … Please let us know what is “LSE”?

With this good result, you can always get into top universities/colleges. Just go ahead and apply.

  4. Dear IGCSE Team.
Hello, how are you? Hope you’re all good. I am going to take 2 subjects in this year ,which are going to be Mathematics and English. I’ve just gotten my grade 9 certificate from the school last year and I do not intend in studying grade 10 in school as I am planning in studying in my home and preparing for the respective 5 subject IGCSE certificates which are going to be Maths, Sciences and English.

What I want to know is:
-Do I have to study grade 10 and get a degree from the school?
    if not
-What papers will I take in each subject?

    Kind Regards,
    Mohamed

    • Hi Mohamed,
Here are the answers to your questions:

      1. You can always study at home if you wish to do so. When you are ready, you just need to register to sit for the IGCSE exams with your local British Council.

      2. If you aim to achieve A*, we strongly suggest you to take the Extended curriculum. Please read above to know how to choose your subjects. Once you have chosen your subjects, you may download the subject syllabi here: https://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/
