  1. Hi, my son is on form 2, of the local msian system. We r seriously thinking of registering him w a school tt does igcse next year, whiere he will be 15. Wld he be able to go straight in at year 9 ? For the igcse exams, wld it be based on an accummulation of crse works over the years 7-11? Tq in advance

    • Hi Nor,

First of all, you have to check with the school that you intend to register him with. We can?t tell you if he would be admitted into Year 9 or Year 10 or may be even Year 8. This you have to discuss with the respective school.

Coursework had been and would be withdrawn from many subjects in the coming new syllabus. Since we do not know which subjects your son is taking, it is best to check the syllabus here: https://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/

    • Hi Husna,

Specimen Papers will only be available when there is a change of syllabus for that year. Otherwise, ‘Specimen Papers’ will not be available when the syllabus stays the same.

    • Hi,

Additional Mathematics is different from Extended Mathematics. Additional Maths is for those candidates who are generally already scoring minimum Grade A/A* in Mathematics ?Extended curriculum?. Additional Maths is much more rigorous comparing to Mathematics. If you are planning to further your study in Engineering or in any Advanced Sciences, Additional Maths is required.

You can download the syllabus of Additional Maths and Mathematics and see the differences (https://www.igcsecentre.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/)

    • Hi Shan,

Those are the papers we?re missing as well. We will keep updating the past exam papers. Do check the page from time to time.
