  1. Hello.

My friend and I are taking the IGCSE O Levels . My friend wants to earn a degree in Business Studies and I want to earn a degree in Psychology. What subjects should we take in the O levels if we want to earn degrees in those subjects ? And is taking English as my second language okay even though I want to get a scholarship for college ? And how many subjects should i take at least for the O levels if I want to be accepted ? Please reply as soon as possible. It would be a great help to both my friend and I.

    • Hi there,
Generally for Business Studies, you may consider: English, Maths, Business Studies, Economics, and one subject from the Science Group (please read above article).

As for Psychology, there have been many different subjects required for different university. We can only suggest, but you have to confirm with the university as which subjects are needed. You may consider: English, Maths, Sociology, any of the science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).

You need to proceed to A Level or equivalent in order to get admission to university. Please check on the respective university’s website, and find out their entry requirements.

  2. Hello I was wondering if you could make English your foreign language instead of french if you don’t really speak good English or not fluent

    • Hi,

I am studying from home for the Igcse biology exam, and was wondering if I need to pass all 3 papers individually or if the total of the 3 exams makes up the final grade? I highly doubt that I will pass the practical exam and am not sure if this will affect my overall passing even if I do well in the multiply choice and theory. Thanks a lot

      • Hi Carol,
You must always sit for all the 3 papers in the same examination series. And all the 3 papers will add up to your total score. Definitely the practical paper would affect your overall grade if you didn’t do well on this paper.

  3. Hey guys i wanted to ask my sister is doing IGCSE exams right now and I wanted to know if they are a requirement for A levels or if she can take A levels even without doing IGCSE.

  4. Hi
I just want to ask ,and i have two questions. im in grade 10 currently doing my IGCSE but i was wondering since i wanted to study media what subjects should i choose and what comes after igcse ?
    Thank you 🙂

    • Hi Reem,
It is best to check with the university on the required subjects for IGCSE level and also at A Level.

After IGCSE, you may proceed to A Level or any equivalent courses in order to gain entrance into university.

  5. Dear IGCSE CENTRE,

I would like to know as the results are published in August, is there any way I can receive them before that. As the school I am applying to, starts their school in June, and I cannot sit in class until I have my marks card. IS it possible to get a confidential report sent directly to my new school, from CIE? That is before the given published date.

    Regards,
    Maryanne
