So when we apply for the IGCSE of more than 7 subjects or even 14 meeting the required states for the ICE certificate don’t we sort of automatically become eligible for it ? Or do we have to apply for it separately? I mean which of them is better if applying separately is the case.
To be eligible for the Cambridge ICE, your school must make a separate entry for the Cambridge ICE Award, provided you fulfilled the Cambridge ICE entry criteria. You can read more here: https://www.igcsecentre.com/what-is-cambridge-ice/
Hi,
I have my daughter currently in Yr-9 and will be soon taking IGCSE subjects in y-10. For the sake of preparedness, I have the following clarifications:
1) What are AS & A levels and what are the difference between these two levels? Are both of considered pre-requests to accomplish IGCSE?
2) Why does Yr-13 requires for?
3) What is the difference between EDEXCEL and IGCSE and which is preferred?
4) How are subjects distributed over the four coming years (Yr-10, Yr-11, Yr-12 & Yr-13)
Hello Saleh,
Here are the answers to your questions:
1. Please read more about AS and A Level here: https://alevelcentre.com/what-is-asa-level/. AS and A Level is a level higher than IGCSE. Which means, once you have finished IGCSE, you proceed to AS and A Level.
2. It depends on which country you are residing. In some countries, you will finish school at Year 13, some at Year 12.
3. You may read more on IGCSE on the above article. Please google on EDEXCEL to find out more about the exam.
4. The subjects choice is very much depending on the school. You must discuss with the school for this matter.
Hello Marwan,
A good guideline is: English, Maths, Additional Maths, Physics, Chemistry. You should get the confirmation from the university on their entry requirement.
Hello there,
If you have registered with your school, you can’t register with other exam centre in the same examination series. If you would like to apply ICE privately, you must register yourself with another exam centre in different examination series, with all the combination of subjects for ICE.
It is not mandatory to obtain ICE. You must first find out why do you need ICE in the first place.

Good morning
I live in Dubai. My son, age 12 at this time would like to take the IGCSE Greek exam next year. May or June. H will be 13 by then.
1. Does his age permits him to take the exam?
2. If so, when is the registration process?
Thank you
Lefki
Hi Lefki,
You must get the confirmation from the school / the exam centre where you wish to register your son.

Well, my school doesn’t really apply for ICE but I’m qualified for it, can I apply individually? 🙂
