  1. Hi! I’d like to clear a confusion of mine. I just recently finished my biology o-level and I was wondering if that means that I’m considered to be done with highschool level biology? I’m debating on whether or not I should drop biology in gr12 so I would really appreciate a reply. Thanks!

    • Hi Jessica,

Candidates normally will proceed to A level after completing O-level. Year 12 and 13 is for A-level. If you wish to proceed to A-level, then you must go through Year 12 and 13.

The best way to decide whether to drop a subject or not, is to find out from the university’s entry requirements. Check what are the required subjects for the course you wish to further your study in. Only in this way, you can make the right decision.

    • Hello Akari,

If you are a private candidate, you may spread out the subjects in different examination series. However, please take note that some universities/colleges might require not more than 13 months apart between the first exam sat and the last.

You may sit for the exam without any previous certificate. Just register whenever you are ready.

We suggest that you pay a visit to your local British Council to enquire for exam registration process and available subjects in your local area, or search for any registered Cambridge School which accept private candidate here: https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/why-choose-us/find-a-cambridge-school/ to get more information with regards to exam registrations.

  2. hi my name is hamad ,I have a very important question,if I get B in maths and C in ict and the rest of the subjects below C ,do I get the admission for year 12/AS-level or do I fail

    • Hi Hamad,

Fail is when you see “UNGRADED” on your Statement of Results. Grades below C are considered pass. However, if you plan to further your studies, you must get the confirmation from respective school/college/university on this matter. Each school/college/university has its own entry requirement.

  3. Hello,
My school used to allow us to do nine subjects but now they only allow five of those nine to be taken by any student. They have added the option of the other 4 subjects in an optional program and do not allow me to separately pay for those subjects. To do them I would have to opt for a school optional program containing various other things and with a very high fee. All of this does not contain the cost of the papers.
So will it not be possible for me to get my ICE certificate if I cannot afford the optional program?

  4. Hello, as a IGCSE student, if for some reason i get a really bad grade on add maths, like a U, do i still have to declare it on the university application or can i leave it out?

    • Hello Sophia,

It is always best to be truthful and to not leave out any details with your application. If this subject is not required for your chosen study, then you do not have to worry. However, if this subject is part of their entry requirements, we suggest that you re-take this exam.
