  1. Hi CIE team, my son in year 10 in NZ next year he is planing to do IGCSE. I wonder if you can help me to choose between two schools, one offers coordinated science and the other one offers combined science or Triple Science. If he is interested to study medicine in the future which one would give him better chance ( coordinated science or triple??)
Does the triple science is tested in the same day in one paper or as a three diff ren subjects in three different days??
I do appreciate your time and effort to help me.
    Best regards

    • Hello Ghada,
Thank you for writing in. First of all, we are not CIE. 🙂

If your son is planning to do medicine in the future, he ought to take Triple Science. The 3 sciences will be tested on different days.

  2. Hi Igcse team, I would like to ask what are “core subjects”, I understand that you have 6 groups from which you must complete 5 subjects from any of these groups but I don’t understand what a core subject is, may I just speculate that these are subjects that are compulsory and must be taken which are (First language) (secondary language) (1 Maths subject) (1 science subject ) and one extra to obtain the certificate. If my speculation is wrong please reply and help explain further on “core subject” or if it is what is speculated please reply and tell me this is right.

    • Hello Nic,
Core subjects are: one from English Group, one from Maths Group, and one from Science Group. That makes up 3 subjects.

For the other 2 more subjects (in order to achieve minimum of 5 subjects), you may choose from any Groups.

  3. Hi IGCSE team,
I’m starting year 10 this September, planning to take pharmacist after IGCSE, my questions are: –
    1) should I take A Level after IGCSE?
    2) which subjects should I take in year 10?
Hope to hear from you very soon. Thanks a lot.

p.s. I already took IGCSE Art & Design and 1st language on April 2015.

    • Hello Vian,
Yes, you need to have A-Level in order to enter the university, normally. You may consider: English, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Add Maths.

  4. What come after IGCSE? Right now I’ve taken Chemistry, Math, Biology, Physics, French, ICT, and English as a first language. What preparation could I do for Medical School and what are the best courses for Med School

  5. Hi! I am currently doing IGCSE
My majors are business accounts and economics. I want to be a psychiatrist. What is the best combination for me to have?

    • Hello Eenie,
It would be good to consider Biology and Chemistry as well. Mental (psychology) and human body reaction (biology & chemistry) are coincide.
