Hi, my daughter currently doing IGCSE. She likes to join for BBA, when inquired at in one of the universities in the UAE, they gave me 2 options .
1. One year Foundation Program (when we finish Foundation Program join for BBA)
Students who have completed O Level / IGCSE / GCSE / WAEC are eligible for this progamme with minimum 5 subjects with an aggregate of 50%
50% equivalent to which grade?
2. Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Programs -:
* British national curriculum (GCE) Advanced levels: 2 A-Levels or 4 AS Levels with an aggregate of 50%.
Can you Explain – 2 A- Levels means 2 subjects at A Level ?
4 AS Levels = ?
Hi Firas,
In order to enter medical school, usually the minimum grades required are Grade B and above, for all the subjects. Some universities even required only Grade A as medical course entry requirement.
It would be advisable to resit all the subjects, if he is very sure to pursue medicine. And he must take Biology, as we can see Biology is missing from his subjects list.
I got 2 A* in biology and chemistry. And 1 B in food and nutrition. Also 6 A in mathematics, physics, economics, business studies , ICT , english as a second language.
I want to study in a medical school in the future will this result be enough? Also which subjects should i take in ALevels to qualify for a medical school.

Hi there,
It is considered a pass. You do not need to resit if you’re not going to do science related courses in the future.
