I am from India and started the igcse course in July. My school offers French, Spanish, Hindi and Tamil as a foreign language. However I am very comfortable with English and have in a row failed two of school term end papers for French which I choose as a foreign language. I wish to drop out of french and just take these subjects (English Language, English Literature, International Maths, Accounting, Physic, Chemistry and Business Studies. Hence my finally question is can I continue with my 6 subjects and leave foreign languages as I find it hard to learn any foreign language

Hello,
I just need to know if a second language is compulsory in IGCSE?
This is my second year taking French as my 2nd language and i am failing miserably. I don’t want to give the exam for it so please let me know if it is compulsory. My first language is English.
We are homeschoolers and we are currently living in Saudi, as my husband works here. I need a syllabus to follow to ensure the kids are up to grade level. My youngest homeschoolers is turning 5 and I’m starting to prepare my eldest for her GCSEs. How can I purchase/ access a syllabus for all subjects? Thank you.
Hi Sam,
If you are following the GCSE curriculum, you may get the syllabus from your local British Council. We do not know about the GCSE syllabus. We are an IGCSE site 🙂

Hi Mohammed,
If you do not need any foreign languages for your further studies, then you may drop them.

Hi Zarbaz,
If you are a “Private Candidate”, you could take the subjects separately.

Hi Bell,
No, second language is not compulsory. As long as you do not need French for your further studies, you can drop it.

Hi. I’ll be writing IGCSE in 2016. Because of the new syllabus,I just wanted to ask if past papers could still help me prepare more???
Yes, definitely. The new syllabus still contains majority of past syllabus.
